REPERTORY

S0ME OF THE DANCES THAT KEEP AUDIENCES COMING BACK:

(all dances choreographed or co-created by Billbob Brown, in collaboration with the dancers, unless otherwise noted)

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
One small change can produce a catastrophic effect. One simple gesture leads to one more complicated; dancers accidentally brush past one another, leading to greater and greater complications. All of this under the shadow of a deepening magnification of the Mandelbrot set.
TURBULENCE
An exciting dance based upon turbulent flow: eddies and rivulets, non-smooth fluidity, a vortex and riptides, all expressed through the human body, against a beautiful video background of fluid fractal turbulence. In Section Two, "Phase Space," the dancer's movements onstage are pixilated via video, and abtracted to become simple square patterns surrounding the live dancer.
STRANGE ATTRACTORS
Sometimes things, sometimes people, attract and create new events, in the moment that is unpredictable.
SPACE COWBOY
Hopalong Cassidy meets Captain Kirk meets 'NSYNC! This dance, with BillyBob Beaugois, is always a hit wherever it is performed!
ONCE UPON A...
Two scientists attempt to explain the peculiar nature of Time, through the example of old TV shows and a little disco music!
PINCH
our Red Sox piece, dedicated to the best team in the world! Choreographed by Arlene Steiner, to the music of Astor Piazzola.

THIS REALLY HAPPENED
A UFO chases some dancers around the stage, while others are completely oblivious. Based on a true experience. Really.
T.O.E. DANCE
Clock and Quark, the Quantum Mechanics, try to reconcile Quantum Theory and The Theory of Relativity through a Theory of Everything... Einstein couldn't have done it better. Nods to Albert himself, Edwin Hubble, and Madam Curie. If you ever had trouble remembering your subatomic particles, or wondered why Pluto isn't a planet any more, this dance is for you! Co-created with Rebecca Nordstrom, to the music of silent movies and Queen, reconstructed by Nikki Stoia.
DANCE REVIEW
In this hilarious piece, two below-average university students share Six Lessons in exactly how NOT to write a Dance Review! Co-created with Rebecca Nordstrom.
THE OLD ONE TWO
A little zaniness behind the curtains and a couple of fingers! Counting to ten was never this much fun!
DARK MATTER
To Trio Sonata by Ravel, this beautiful duet compares the mystery of unseen stuff of the universe with our own personal matter of the heart. Co-created with Rebecca Nordstrom.
THE "C" WORD
Some couples just can't commit, and this one is trying everything in its power to avoid tying the knot!
LILY DALE
A spiritualist with a Ouija Board in the 19th Century becomes possessed by the spirits she summons during a seance that she conducts.
SWEET INSPIRATION
An artist and his frisky muse, to the sweet violin sounds of Fritz Kreisler. Co-created with Rebecca Nordstrom. Originally conceived as a collaboration with Sarasa Music Ensemble, premiered in London, England.
ONE PERFECT ROSE
Choreographer Rebecca Nordstrom becomes Dorothy Parker in this witty tribute to the famous writer-humorist.
YA SOU!
Semi-spheres create opportunities for great bouncing leaps of joy and merriment. Music from the islands of Greece.
THINGS IN THE SKY
Dancers who begin on Earth, looking up at the stars and planets, soon find themselves caught in a pull past the Great Asteroid Belt, and on a journey out of our solar system, into the farthest reaches of space. One dancer is led to pick up the moon, going through its phases, from out of the floor; beautiful duets with lifts, take place as Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the outer planets whiz past. Virtuosic dancing, videos that blend fractal with astronomy with human forms, reflect on discs that the dancers carry, like so many angels in the sky... On to the Pleiades, nebulae, outer parts of the galaxy, and finally to galactic clusters, some of the largest things in space imaginable. Original music by Stephen Katz.
THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO MODERN DANCE
OK, everyone has that relative or boyfriend who is absolutely clueless about Modern Dance. It's weird, it's strange, and people just keeping walking around stage and falling down or stopping for no apparent reason. Or maybe you don't get it either! Then this piece is for you, to finally get your understanding (or your revenge!) of all that is confusing about Modern Dance. Sports buffs, we explain it to you in your own terms: just give everyone numbers, and keep score! Cable TV addicts, it's as simple to understand as a Cooking Show or a Soap Opera! We don't guarantee that you won't be even more confused after this piece is over, but we will guarantee that you will have a whole lot of fun, in this very funny sendup! Includes "Top of the Ninth", to Beethoven's 9th Symphony, with sports announcements from most every sport on television and radio today. With original score by Michael DeQuattro, percussionist.
MUSCLE MEMORY
How do we remember dance steps? A group of dancers take a funny look at how they keep from forgetting. One part Marx Brothers, one part Catholic school girls.
IT'S ONLY A WALLET
While most of our dances are funny or unabashedly dancey, occasionally we find the need to say something about the injustices in the world, whether it be about race, or gender, or equality, or the environment and the world we live in. This powerful video/dance speaks to the case of Amadou Diallo, an African immigrant to the United States, who was shot while entering his apartment, innocent and completely unarmed...
CAFFEINE
What happens when you've had just a little bit too much coffee to get you going in the morning? Too buzzed to think straight, or dance straight?
